- FSA will publish our list of Summer meets as the summer progresses
- Training - Group Descriptions
- Any athletes shifting training groups have been notified of where to register
- Athletes are organized based on skill level AND age to help support the opportunity to train and compete with their peers.
- FSA has designed our training groups this year based on the needs of the program and our current ANTICIPATED enrollment. These may be subject to change this year and on a year over year basis.
- Organizing our groups this way is intended to encourage skill development with others of a similar skill level.
- Organizing our groups this way supports team building and social aspects of swimming through participation and maturation with peer groups.
- FSA will reintroduce out of water workouts during this coming season.
- Athletes are expected to participate with the group they are placed into. Training groups have been created with great intention to best benefit our athletes’ long term swimming and character development. Attending practice outside of the athlete’s assigned group should not occur without a collaborative conversation with the coaching staff
- Lessons
- FSA Staff offers one-on-one lessons to support an athlete's swim journey
- Athletes joining the sport of swimming at a later age are encouraged to fill in some gaps with training to facilitate their best possible experience and/or introduction to our swim team.
- Athletes who are seeking support for specific areas of their swimming are also encouraged to participate in lessons to further their skill development
- Swim lessons are available to all athletes regardless of skill or experience.
- Some athletes will be asked to join the FSA lessons program to support their transition to the team or into new groups.
- Swim lessons are an additional cost on top of our Program costs.
- Coaching Model
- FSA has a goal of having 2 coaches dedicated to each group whenever possible regardless of group size.
- The FSA coaching staff has an internal goal of providing feedback and connecting with each athlete at every practice.
- FSA have sponsored our coaches to become American Swim Coaches Association certified in addition to USA Swimming and we will sponsor all first year coaches with Levels 1 and Level 2
- Schedule
- THE CURRENT SCHEDULE WILL GO UNCHANGED UNTIL MID FEBRUARY. All schedule information is updated LIVE at swimfsa.org/schedule
- FSA is a part of, and shares its pool with Friends Select School and the Philadelphia Fins Masters Team. The middle school and high school seasons have already begun and will run through the Eastern Championships Feb 13-16.
- For this reason we will have 2 schedules, one which we have been operating with since November, and the schedule which we will shift back to on February 17 (the day after President's Day when school will be closed)
- The attached schedules are based on forecasted registration and may be subject to minor changes based on actual team size and groupings
- FSA has worked hard to minimize the changes between these two schedules.
