From 2017-2023, Nic served as the head swimming coach at Abington Friends School. Over six seasons, he fostered the development of numerous league medal winners while also overseeing a significant rewriting of the women's school record board. In 2024, Nic joined renowned Suburban Seahawks Club as an assistant coach, where he learned from ASCA top 50 Age Group Coach Tara Bolivar and ASCA Hall of Fame Coach Charlie Kennedy . Nic's passion for swimming started as a freshman at Athens Area High School under the guidance of Mark Keister. He was recruited to the second-year swim program at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, where he earned a B.A. in anthropology. Under the direction of coach Josh Gurekovich, Nic achieved the distinction of being a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes National Qualifier in both the 100 and 200 Backstroke and the 100 and 200 Breaststroke before an injury curtailed his swimming career.
Nic's coaching philosophy is to be intentionally positioned to support our students in myriad ways: athletic development, academic growth, creative abilities, and mental health—four pillars working together to create the greatest overall success for each individual. Nic is a current USA Swimming Certified Coach and an American Swimming Coaches Association Level 3 Coach.

Assistant Coach
Coach Kyle has been immersed in the water since the age of six, bringing a lifelong love of swimming to every athlete he coaches. He grew up competing with multiple San Diego based swim clubs across Southern California and represented Scripps Ranch High School on the varsity swim and water polo teams, with a competitive focus on Breaststroke and IM events and taking the role of sprinter for water polo. With over a decade of competitive experience, Kyle continued his aquatic journey at Indiana University Bloomington, where he swam for the university’s club team, competing with other Big Ten and local Midwest swim clubs. Upon graduating, he also had the unique opportunity to train and coach alongside IU alumni and Olympian, Jim Montgomery, through his masters swim program—an experience that deepened his technical expertise and coaching perspective.
Outside the pool, Kyle is always looking for new places to explore. Since moving to Philadelphia this past year, he’s been enjoying the city’s food scene, discovering local spots, and staying active through dancing and climbing.
While coaching at Friends Select Aquatics, Kyle is focused on redefining his coaching methodology by blending technical precision with elevated intensity in training. He enjoys working with developing swimmers, especially those preparing to compete at the high school level, and takes pride in helping them refine their technique and mental toughness. As he continues coaching in the Mid-Atlantic Swimming Conference, he is committed to growing both as a leader and mentor.
